Bengaluru, Sept. 9: A grand Rath Yatra, organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat to mark the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Abbakka, passed through Jaigopal Garodia Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Ramamurthy Nagar. Sri Yashwanth spoke about the legacy of the 16th century warrior queen of Tulu Nadu, Rani Abbakka. The Rath Yatra, which started from South Bengaluru, covered more than ten schools and spread her inspiring story. Sri Manikantha highlighted Rani Abbakka’s valiant resistance against the Portuguese invaders and her refusal to pay unjust taxes. He shared how she is remembered as the “Tulu Rani” in folk songs and called for her sacrifice to be included in the school curriculum to inspire future generations. He shared the view that in an era of male dominance, Rani Abbakka stood tall as a matriarchal power, rightly remembered as “Samudrada Halagal Ninta Ajay Shakti” (the invincible power that stood against the waves of the sea). Smt. Padmavati shared the remarkable contribution of a woman who, 500 years ago, led the freedom struggle without any modern facilities, becoming the first woman to fight for the freedom of the motherland. The Rath Yatra, which took place with two chariots from Davangere and Bengaluru, reached out to around 1000 students daily through awareness programmes. The 10-day journey will culminate in Ullal, Mangaluru, the birthplace of Rani Abbakka. There, both Rani Abbakka and Kittur Rani Chennamma will be paid homage. The dignitaries and roots of JGRVK who joined AVBP were felicitated with RP @ 60 pamphlets. Pradhanacharya addressed the gathering, highlighting the contributions of the Prakalpas to the society. Dignitaries and students of JGRVK offered heartfelt obeisance to the Rani Abbakka Rath Yatra.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಸೆ. 9: ರಾಣಿ ಅಬ್ಬಕ್ಕನ 500ನೇ ಜಯಂತಿ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅಖಿಲ ಭಾರತೀಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ ಪರಿಷತ್ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಚಾಲಿತ ಭವ್ಯ ರಥಯಾತ್ರೆಯು ಜೈ ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ಗರೋಡಿಯಾ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ರಾಮಮೂರ್ತಿನಗರ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಾಗಿತು. ಶ್ರೀ ಯಶವಂತ ಅವರು 16ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದ ತುಳುನಾಡಿನ ಯೋಧ ರಾಣಿ ರಾಣಿ ಅಬ್ಬಕ್ಕ ಅವರ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ರಥಯಾತ್ರೆಯು ಹತ್ತುಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಶಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಅವರ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಹರಡಿತು. ಶ್ರೀ ಮಣಿಕಂಠ ಅವರು ಪೋರ್ಚುಗೀಸ್ ಆಕ್ರಮಣಕಾರರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ರಾಣಿ ಅಬ್ಬಕ್ಕಳ ಧೀರ ಪ್ರತಿರೋಧ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ಯಾಯದ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಪಾವತಿಸಲು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು. ಜನಪದ ಹಾಡುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು “ತುಳು ರಾಣಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಗೆ ಸ್ಮರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ನೀಡಲು ಶಾಲಾ ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ತ್ಯಾಗವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಕರೆಯನ್ನು ಕರೆದರು. ಪುರುಷ ಪ್ರಾಬಲ್ಯದ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ, ರಾಣಿ ಅಬ್ಬಕ್ಕ ಮಾತೃ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತರಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಂತರು, “ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಹಲಗಳ ನಿಂತ ಅಜಯ ಶಕ್ತಿ” (ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಅಲೆಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಿಂತ ಅಜಯ ಶಕ್ತಿ) ಎಂದು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಸ್ಮರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು.v500 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ, ಯಾವುದೇ ಆಧುನಿಕ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿದ, ಮಾತೃಭೂಮಿಯ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಡಿದ ಮೊದಲ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರಾದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪದ್ಮಾವತಿ ಅವರು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ದಾವಣಗೆರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ ಎರಡು ರಥಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಡೆದ ರಥಯಾತ್ರೆಯು ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಸುಮಾರು 1000 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿತು. 10 ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನಡೆಯುವ ಈ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವು ರಾಣಿ ಅಬ್ಬಕ್ಕ ಅವರ ಜನ್ಮಸ್ಥಳವಾದ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಉಳ್ಳಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊನೆಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಣಿ ಅಬ್ಬಕ್ಕ ಮತ್ತು ಕಿತ್ತೂರು ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮ ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಗೌರವ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. AVBP ಗೆ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೊಂಡ JGRVK ಯ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ರೂಟ್ಸ್ ಅವರನ್ನು RP @ 60 ಕರಪತ್ರಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರಧಾನಾಚಾರ್ಯ ಜಿ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು, ಪ್ರಕಲ್ಪಗಳು ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು. JGRVK ಯ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ರಾಣಿ ಅಬ್ಬಕ್ಕ ರಥಯಾತ್ರೆಗೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಪ್ರಣಾಮಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
