Bengaluru, Aug. 29: National Sports Day was celebrated on the occasion of Major Dhyan Chand Jayanti herein Jaigopal Garodia Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Ramamurthy Nagar. Shreya Rao, a student of class 7, spoke about the life and achievements of Major Dhyan Chand. She spoke about his contributions to Indian hockey. She explained the reasons why he is called the Magician of Hockey and explained that he scored 570 goals in hockey in just 185 matches.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಆ. 29: ಜೈಗೋಪಾಲ್‌ ಗರೋಡಿಯಾ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ರಾಮಮೂರ್ತಿನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಜರ್‌ ಧ್ಯಾನಚಂದ್‌ ಜಯಂತಿ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. 7ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಶ್ರೇಯಾ ರಾವ್‌ ಮೇಜರ್‌ ಧ್ಯಾನಚಂದ್‌ ಜೀವನ-ಸಾಧನೆ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದಳು. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಹಾಕಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದಳು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಮಾಂತ್ರಿಕನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತ, ಅವರು ಹಾಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 570 ಗೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ 185 ಪಂದ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಡೆದದ್ದನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದಳು.
