Bengaluru, Aug. 28-30: A Personality Development Camp was organised for students of class 8 at Jaigopal Garodia Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Ramamurthy Nagar.
- Sri Gajanan Londe, Head, NSTC Programme Office, Ministry of Education, NCERT, New Delhi, delivered the inaugural address.
- He conducted an engaging and interactive session that encouraged students to reflect on the questions “Who am I?” and “Discover Yourself.” Through inspiring stories from the lives of Ramana Maharshi and Bala Krishna, he encouraged students to introspect and understand the purpose of learning.
- He posed thought-provoking questions like “Why do we learn? To gain knowledge or to achieve more?” and “What is the greatest achievement in life?”
- He highlighted three essential capacities that every individual must develop: Ichcha Shakti (willpower), Jnana Shakti (knowledge), and Kriya Shakti (ability to act). He also narrated a beautiful anecdote of how one stone becomes an idol of a deity while the other stone becomes just a step, both formed by the repeated blows of a chisel. He concluded with a thought-provoking question, “Do you want to be an idol or a step?” He reminded the students that the choice ultimately lies with each individual.

- The students who participated in the three-day program shared their experiences and reflections and spoke about the valuable lessons they had learnt and the various sessions and activities.
- Prema Surendra, Principal, in her value-based remarks, highlighted five important values that students should practice at school, at home and in their daily lives, namely:
- Be confident but never boastful, be disciplined, punctual, respectful and neat, be a good listener and speaker and understand what to say and where to say it, speak with kindness and understanding, always be proactive, not reactive and strive to be a better human being.
- She stressed that teachers, students and parents form a strong triangle and should work together for the holistic development of every child.
- She shared a meaningful story about a pencil and an eraser, comparing the pencil to the students and the eraser to the teacher. Just as the eraser gets smaller when correcting the mistakes of the pencil, teachers selflessly guide, correct and nurture the students. They sacrifice for their growth and development. She said that the story beautifully conveys the values of humility, guidance, correction and selfless service.

- ಹೊಸದಿಲ್ಲಿಯ ಎನ್ಸಿಇಆರ್ಟಿಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದ ಎನ್ಎಸ್ಟಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಕಚೇರಿಯ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥ ಶ್ರೀ ಗಜಾನನ ಲೋಂಧೆ ಅವರು ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
- “ನಾನು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವ, ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಅಧಿವೇಶನವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಮತ್ತು “ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸಿ.” ರಮಣ ಮಹರ್ಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಲ ಕೃಷ್ಣರ ಜೀವನದಿಂದ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಕಥೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ, ಆತ್ಮಾವಲೋಕನ ಮಾಡಲು ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಿಕೆಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು.
- “ನಾವು ಏಕೆ ಕಲಿಯುತ್ತೇವೆ? ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವುದು ಅಥವಾ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನದನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸುವುದು?” ಎಂಬಂತಹ ಚಿಂತನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಚೋದಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟರು. ಮತ್ತು “ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಸಾಧನೆ ಯಾವುದು?”
- ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಮೂರು ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು: ಇಚ್ಛಾ ಶಕ್ತಿ (ಇಚ್ಛಾಶಕ್ತಿ), ಜ್ಞಾನ ಶಕ್ತಿ (ಜ್ಞಾನ), ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರಿಯಾ ಶಕ್ತಿ (ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ). ಒಂದು ಕಲ್ಲು ಹೇಗೆ ದೇವತೆಯ ವಿಗ್ರಹವಾಗುತ್ತದೋ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕಲ್ಲು ಕೇವಲ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲು ಹೇಗೆ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಸುಂದರ ಉಪಾಖ್ಯಾನವನ್ನೂ ಅವರು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು, ಎರಡೂ ಉಳಿಗಳ ಪುನರಾವರ್ತಿತ ಹೊಡೆತದಿಂದ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡವು. “ನೀನು ವಿಗ್ರಹವಾಗಲು ಬಯಸುತ್ತೀಯಾ ಅಥವಾ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲು ಆಗಲು ಬಯಸುತ್ತೀಯಾ?” ಎಂಬ ಚಿಂತನೆಗೆ ಹಚ್ಚುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತು ಮುಗಿಸಿದರು. ಆಯ್ಕೆಯು ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಮೇಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು.

- ಅಧಿವೇಶನವು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅನುಭವಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡು ತಾವು ಕಲಿತ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಪಾಠಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವಿವಿಧ ಅವಧಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
